Participation
Events:
Participation in our events is open to the public. We welcome people of all ages and skill levels.
Flickr Community:
Participants are strongly encouraged to share their sketches. They can do so by posting their work on the USk O‘ahu Flickr Group. Simply click ‘Join Group’ and your request will be accepted by an administrator. We ask that all interested parties attend at least one event to participate on Flickr.
If you encounter challenges uploading your sketches to the Flickr Group, see our step-by-step guide.
Blog:
To participate on the blog (at this site) one must become a blog correspondent.
Correspondents are invited based on the quality of their work, style, originality, geographic location, and overall skills as visual storytellers — all based on their USk O‘ahu Flickr posts. The goal is to make the blog as diverse as possible.
Correspondents have varied backgrounds, from the arts to the sciences. All of them share a passion for drawing on location.
Being a correspondent requires a strong involvement in our community of sketchers, posting to the blog regularly (typically once per month), and offering feedback to fellow sketchers on the blog. Correspondents not only add individual drawings to the blog but also narrative explaining the circumstances in which the sketch was created or a particular story behind it. Although sketches from travels outside of the islands are permitted, Hawai‘i must be the home base and primary subject of USk O‘ahu blog correspondents.
Administration reserves the right to remove posts and revoke correspondent status.
hello, I would like to find out how to become a part of urban sketchers with correspondent status.

Hello Kris,
Thank you for the comment! In addition to the personal e-mail I sent you, we have made improvements to the “Participation” page and we hope that further clarifies your question.
Hope to see you at our kick-off event!

Hi Mary,
We do not know of any sketching group or sketchers on the Big Island, however a strong art community is there. Please look us up if you are on Oʻahu in the future!
