Chasing Goats

It’s been a while since I have sketched. Last Tuesday was USkO’s 7th birthday though, so I had to get out for a little doodling to celebrate the occasion today – even if it was a week late. Inspired by the goat sketches on the blog some months ago, I decided to chase down some of my own hooved friends. They must have had a double shot of espresso though. I was teased with three-second poses.

Ooh, a triumphant stance on a boulder, nice – and before I knew it, the darn thing would be jumping around again or hiding in the grass. It sure was fun though! Boing! I quickly switched to a more gestural style with a brush pen.

If I visit right after they finish a big meal, then they might actually look like goats next time. :D

Happy birthday and keep on sketching!

Aww, so cute!

This morning, sketchers gathered at the Hawaiian Humane Society had to make a hard decision: pet subject first, draw later? In the end, we found time for both. Show-and-tell featured drawings of the humane society’s grounds, but some of us were brave enough to attempt to capture those cute four-pawed creatures in the few seconds that they might sit still.

Thank you to the Hawaiian Humane Society for hosting us!

As always, don’t forget to check out our sketches on Flickr and upload your own!

Make sure to stay tuned for our next event!
