And 2017 Kicks Off!

Shout-out to Vishan and Scot from WF for their enthusiastic response and warm welcome!
Show-and-tell was again our favorite part of the evening. Michele joined us for one last event before returning to Seattle, leaving us with an addiction to a new pen that at least three of us are now using. We hope to see her again next winter! Alice showed us her sketches of people, as she expands her series of the animal kingdom (normally confined to the Honolulu Zoo). Newcomer Lauren showed no rust after returning to sketching after a 4-year hiatus, and Ivan dazzled us with a personal record of five sketches in 1.5 hours! Finally, we were also joined by our youngest sketcher yet––can you spot her in our photos? :)

Thanks Sebastian. We ended up with 5 or 6 (lost track) new people turning up for outdoor sketching on quite a warm day. I was really pleased to see one of our biggest turn outs yet with quite a few ‘regulars’ still away.
Are you doing Lunar New Year sketching? We will be out for the day on the 28th. Looking forward to seeing what USk Oahu does next!

This was such a perfect environment for sketching, comfortable and lots of subject matter, stationary and moving. Thanks, Sebastian, for arranging this location and for the photos. I am excited to participate with such a great group of sketchers. Looking forward to Chinese New Year in Chinatown with you!
