Discover a Little Modern in the City
Posted: September 28, 2026 Filed under: USkO 5 CommentsAloha Urban Sketchers O’ahu! Have you visited Capitol Modern, the Hawai’i State Art Museum recently? Grab your sketchbooks and meet us in downtown Honolulu.
Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026
Capitol Modern
250 South Hotel St.
10am to Noon
Capitol Modern is a small gallery that supports art and its artists. Our kind of people!
The museum itself is Spanish-Mission style. You can read all about it’s rich history here.
There is metered street parking. Or you can find limited City & County parking at the municipal building, three blocks away that’s free on weekends.
We’ll meet at the entry. You are free to sketch inside or outside. We’ll get together at 11:30 to share our sketches. If attending, please RSVP at uskoahu@gmail.com by Friday, Oct. 9 so I know to expect you.
Until then, happy sketching!

Terri, thereâs municipal parking across Hotel street, think itâs $3 all day. Painted few months ago during a rain storm. Aloha, Spencer Sent from my iPhoneOn Sep 28, 2026,
