An Evening Stroll

They have a lot of character. I suppose it also helps that I am challenged by proportions and perspective, which then tends to give inanimate objects a bit of a personality. I also liked the way this A-framed house was tucked away behind the trees on its perch above the street.

A Moment Between Downpours
Posted: April 2, 2014 Filed under: USkO | Tags: ink brush pen, pen, portable water brush pen, watercolor Leave a commentIt has been rainy and windy the last few days, but I slipped in a sketch last Sunday at 17:00 as the sun set. Looking at the pair of shoes I sketched, I should probably consider having a warm-up period.

Afterwards, I did a sketch of the sunset. I liked the stark contrast between the bright orange sky and the dark green leaves of the tree in the foreground. Rain clouds were sneaking up behind me so I had to finish the sketch indoors.

In many, I tried sketching a different subject (e.g., cars, birds) or using a different medium (e.g., quills, ink brush pens) or technique.

This is the first time I’ve seen it. Here are a few photos of their artwork. Most are from this year’s festival. Definitely something to check out if you have not already. Pow! Wow! Hawai‘i
